Rated 5 out of 5 by jbeasy from awesome reel Great reel for the money. Just paired it up with a 9' heavy action ugly stick rod. Put 60 lb line on and battled it out with a 8' 225 lb bull shark. Drag worked beautifully with the ease of one finger slight adjustments during the 2 hr battle. THANK YOU shakespeare for the equipment to handle the best catch that I've had to date. Would have never guessed a economical priced reel would be the best reel I ever bought. Would most definitely recommend this reel to anyone.

Rated 2 out of 5 by bigL1982 from wont cast It will not make a long cast the spool locks everytime. If you lob it or pitch it, it does fine. Would not recommend if fishing off the bank. Have emailed Shakespeare but have yet to hear back.

Rated 1 out of 5 by sdwilli from really??? If you are looking for a reel as a gift to a 5 year old, this is it. If you are looking for a reel for an adult angler, this is not it. No precision, no accuracy on the line counter, and consistent problems with any size line (except lead core) getting embedded in the gaps at the spool. I've received many of these in the last 4 years as door prizes, drawings, etc. at tourny's. ALL were so far below standard that they just went into the garbage. I'm a fan of Shakespeare, but this model reel is embarrassing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by 911ghostriderhd from Poor reel I I bought this reel about a month ago thinking it was going to be a good deal to put on my Penn rod. Big mistake went out on the pier and had a fish on and drag striped out and handle spun and about broke my thumb. Gears were grinding and lost fish. Haven't used it again going to get a refund and get a better reel.
