Exceptional Quality with unbeatable value!
I have the 6'6" M, 2pc rod and absolutely love this rod for walleye fishing. Great backbone for larger fish, yet nice soft tip to prevent pulling the hooks out .
You simply can't beat this level of quality for this price, period!
I am hoping that Shakespeare do plan to release some baitcasting versions of the Wild Series, specifically a 7'MH/Mod-Fast tip (1pc) for Walleye/Bass, and a
8'6" MH/Mod-Fast tip (2pc) would be nice as well for Salmon/Steelhead.

Great back bone
I bought this 10.5' ultra light rod a month ago and finally got to use it as ice out was late this year. The shipping was super fast and the rod was packaged very well. It came in great shape and the rod shines, very sharp looking. The rod preformed great with a small spinning reel. I was casting further than anyone else thanks to the length and the line was smooth out of the guides. When I had a fish on the rod had a great stiffness in the back bone to set the hook and the fight was great with the ultra light action. I would recommend it to anyone. Only thing I saw was one of the larger guides was attached a little flimsy it didn't bend but I heard a crack as tension was put on it seemed to come from the glue. I will keep an eye on it.

Caught my biggest salmon ever with this rod! 29 lb King on the bogachiel river with 12ib line. Rod handled the fish no problem for over a half hour fight in deep pool with a strong current. I now own eight different set ups from the Shakespeare wild series.

No, thanks
I bought a medium light and it is what I would consider medium or even medium-heavy. It's a pretty stiff rod even in the tip, which might simply be the trend in modern rods. The medium light graphite rod this was meant to replace is a noodle by comparison.
I had hoped to return it, but given that it's a one-piece and was shipped in an 8 ft tube it would have cost another 70% of the rod price to do so. Shakespeare customer service seemed uninterested in helping.
I might recommend it with the caveat that it's probably stiffer than other medium-light rods on the market.

Good rod so far
Inexpensive salmon rod that worked well through my first season with it...time will tell how it holds up to salt water exposure. This Wild Series replaces a 15 year old ugly stick elite that had just run its course of fresh and saltwater trips. I like the feel and balance of this Wild Series rod...it handled 6 and 7 pound silver salmon just fine...as well as handled my fair share of snags on bull kelp. So far I am very happy with my purchase, though if this rod fails for any reason it will be replaced with another Ugly Stick.

Great affordable blank!
I own a couple of these rods and love them. The medium-light 7’ still has enough backbone to cast relatively well but will be ideal for jigging walleye. They seem to hold up well and don’t break the bank.

I purchased 3 wild series rod, a medium light, medium and medium heavy spinning rods. The build quality is very good. Hard to believe they can be purchase at $39.95 each. I use the medium heavy rod for surf fishing and salmon fishing with 1 to 3 oz. weights. The medium I use for striper fishing. The medium light i use for steelhead fishing. I own over 40 rods. I couldn't even build rods for this price...
