Rated 1 out of 5 by Niki87 from One disappointed little girl I bought this yesterday for my daughter's birthday so we could I fishing today. Today she ended up accidentally reeling the line into the reel. I was going I try to fix it, but it has a little screw looking thing keeping the top on, and try as I might that sucker will not unscrew..so, looks like we won't be going fishing, which was something she was really looking forward to.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Mkg1967 from Very disappointed little girl I bought this for my niece for her birthday. Took it out to use it, the line got tangled and broke on the second cast. Also it didn't reel in properly, seemed to be slipping. I tried to open it but couldn't. I felt so bad for Ella because I couldn't fix it for her.

Rated 1 out of 5 by mooreterry from The line came off the reels after 8 times of use. I'm not happy with this Frozen fishing combo at all.

Rated 1 out of 5 by polarpheonix from Cant open the reel I bought the Frozen version of this rod reel combo to teach my daughter to fish. Once on the water i let her play with it. She reeled the line into the housing. I was not able to open the housing to get the line. The screw which appears to hold it in place strips very easy making it impossible to open. Since rod and reel are connected i cannot even replace the reel with a smaller ice fishing reel to make it work. Thanks Elsa you ruined everything again!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Sonnyy from Frozen fishing combo I previously purchased one of these combo for my daughter to play with, didn't last more than five minutes. Terrible product but Shakespeare made right. Sent me a replacement that was different from the one that was a dud. This new one actually have adjustment for the drag and you can open the reel to change the line unlike the one with the one plastic screw that doesn't unscrew. So thank you Shakespeare for listening and making a useable product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Polarphoenix from Good product to introduce the sport to children I bought this product a month ago, i had a problem with the side screw which allows you to take the reel housing off. After contacting Shakespeare the quickly rectified the problem and sent me a new rod. Im very impressed by there customer service. The new rod works well. I gave 4 stars because the new rod still has a plastic screw, but it seems to be functional unlike the last one. I would recommend this product for a young child eager to learn.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Yzf7904 from Disappointed Fisherwoman to be I traveled to Sitka, Alaska for a dream fishing trip. I told my daughter if she was good I would bring her back a surprise, she didn't want a gift she wanted to go fishing. I found the frozen pole at a local store in Sitka and brought it back to Wyoming. She was extatic! But broke the line within an hour and had the same problem as many others... I couldn't get the screw undone to fix it. I guess even on the kids level you get what you pay for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by wendy from I bought my daughter a frozen fishing rod, and it lasted for a good while, until the line broke. My husband and I did all we could to fix the problem but were unsuccessful. I sent an email to shakespeare and they took care of for me. Easy and Hassle free. They sent my daughter a replacement that is better quality than the one we previously had. Needless to say that made her day. We have had no problems with the replacement.
