Product Reviews

Shakespeare® Spiderman® Backpack Kit is rated 2.7 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from the line for this reel is very fragile Bought two of these for my grand kids, The rod and reel seem to work fine they cast well reel in fine. The only complaint is the line it comes with breaks very easily with just the practice plastic fish. The web site states it's 6lbs It can't be it will break just trying to tie the practice plastic fish on. We tried fishing with them and the smallest of fish would break the line and I'm talking about fish less then 2 inches long. disappointing for the grand kids. For the price it should come with decent line, now I will have to buy extra line for these rod and reels that means i have to spend more money and time. I only recommend is because it's good beginners rod and reel minus the line.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My kid loves it. He used the little rubber fish to practice casting. I ended up putting a spoon on it and he caught a few small fish

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth the money Had the same issue the other commenter did. Cheap line this rod came with broke easily very early on and was reeled into the mysterious plastic abyss. There appears to be a plastic screw to remove in order to get into the reel, but I think it is an illusion to keep parents preoccupied for hours while teaching little fishermen how to either be patient or frustrated.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for kids. I am very happy that I bought this for my daughter. She is three years old and can cast and retrieve very well with this setup. I would recommend this to anyone with kids for ease of use and transport. If your dropping the kids off at grandpa's for the day you can put everything in the bag.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Can't get the cover off!! We tried to buy a "big boy" pole but our son insisted on this one. Got home showed him how to cast and the weighted fish came off. Now we can't get the plastic screw off to get the line out. We could have bought the other pole for just $6 more and have him a pole he can fish with today.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This reel does not unscrew! Why in the world would you build a reel that does not unscrew. How are you suppose to get to the line once the line breaks. So disappointed in this product.
