Rated 5 out of 5 by Gilbert from Smooth yard eating casts! I matched this with the Ugly Stik Inshore medium heavy. Throwing 1oz heads with 7" swimbaits is a breeze. This comes with an impressive drag rate for pulling in those saltwater bass.

Rated 5 out of 5 by monngoose from not my first I have been using Shakespeare casters for years but have been away from fishing for a while (don't know how upset I was when I found out they don't make the axiom anymore ) long and I was able to pick up a agility on sale and paired it with my new Abu vengeance casting rod and I couldn't be happier I've put well over a thousand casts on it and it's spent hundreds of hrs in the water never an issue I've used it in several small turnies in my erea and it does just as good as $100+ reels out there with me and the colors match the rod and the best part is I can use the new handle options from Abu Garcia easy to strip down and clean all in all worth every penny love it

Rated 4 out of 5 by RomesElite from Light weight, smooth retrieve, overall awesome ree bought this reel for some light tackled saltwater fishing and its awesome! spool hold plenty of line so if i hook up to a fish that wants to run im not worried about spooling out (have about 150 yds of 30# braid). its light weight and has good balance on light action poles. partnered this reel with a new GX2 uglystik and its perfect for sea bass, fluke/flounder, porgies, and the occasional cocktail blue. i only give it 4 out of 5 because i would have liked the star drag to be made of metal instead of plastic

Rated 4 out of 5 by Hoot from great inexpensive reel ! bought last fall and put it on a 6' med/light rod with 10lb line. I use it at city lake for bass and trout. Throw 1/4 oz crankbaits and innline spinners for hours at a time. Have not caught any monster fish with it but, a lot of 1to 3 pounders. Drag works great! Nice reel for the money. :-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by daddyjojo from my first baitcaster and its a wow!!! I bought this reel at Walmart and at first I was hesitant, being a machinist by trade, I noticed that they used stainless steel screws and aluminum spools so I knew it was engineered right for salt water applications. I caught five catfish today along the upper Chesapeake bay and this cheap reel is magnificent! Instantly it is now my go to reel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by nicksdaas from good reel but doesn't last I was mostly happy with it but it didn't last very long. After bout 6 months the button wouldn't come back up and after using it in saltwater for a short period it was really rough. Also I cant seem to find spare parts to replace the broken ones. I would save up your money and buy a Abu Garcia Black max. Ive had it for several years and still works fine. Also extra parts readily available(not like it would break any time soon).

Rated 1 out of 5 by 2Dtech from Cheap I purchased this reel because I broke my old one. I got home with it and began to install the new line on it. Everything went fine with the line, and I began to adjust the reel in the back yard to get a feel for it. Adjusting the backlash from it took a while and I thought I had it. Within 45 minutes I was at the lake trying my favorite lure and fine tuning the reel with it. I then caught my first fish on the 4th cast, and knew I was in trouble learning to set the drag. The fish took almost 100 feet before I got it adjusted correctly. I then got the fish with 10 feet from the bank when my favorite pole broke. I was able to land the 18.5 lb. catfish but was soon to learn that the reel is now junk. I put the reel on a new pole and straightened out the line due to the fight and found that now the reel is hard to crank, and has no way to adjust the backlash now. Should you not care about money and can afford a new reel everytime you catch a fish you might like this pretty looking thing.
