Rated 4 out of 5 by Creative31 from Great little ultralight spincast reel Ive had the reel for about two months and it's working perfectly so far. It's a great little spincast reel for ultralight fishing. Like most every spincast reel this one tends to have a misfire every now and then when retrieving the line it doesn't catch the lug inside the reel but so far I haven't had a problem while trying to land a fish. I've used this to catch bluegill crappie and bream so far paired with a 7' ultralight rod. My only reason for leaving four out of five stars is the fixed position of the reel handle, all spinning type reels made today should provide the option to have the handle flipped to right or left rettirve.

Rated 5 out of 5 by rockin Rod from awsome Reel I bought this reel to replace an open face reel on my ice fishing rod I was looking for one that when the wind was blowing and your feeding the line back down the hole, the wind wouldn't blow your line off the open face reel and cause you a real mess and a lot of time getting back down to the fish before they move on. and this reel worked flawless. just hit the trigger feed your lure down to the fish and bam reel the fish in

Rated 1 out of 5 by Tudor from Underspin Under performs I purchased the 4U underspin Synergy. Casting was fine. However on the retrieve. The spool would come in contact with the housing. Creating a noticeable clicking as well as a drag on the cranking energy needed. Returned to Rural King for refund. Was highly disappointed. Bad day of fishing due to pour quality control in production I would believe. I would hope this was a bad apple. On that note I would recommend, but with caution.

Rated 5 out of 5 by subvet81 from Compact size, great for packing on trips! I purchased one of these reels, along with a three foot rod for my son to take to scout camp a few years ago. It has preformed flawlessly in the hands of my 12 year old angler and I liked it so much, I purchased the same rig for me. I travel for a living, and it is my constant companion.

Rated 4 out of 5 by King 1 from Great Reel I brought a Shakespeare Micro rod & reel at a flea market. The reel was in bad shape. I purchased a Synegy Steel Reel to replace the one that was on it. I paid more for the reel than I did for the whole combo, but it is well worth.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Tomster from Some issues I just purchase this reel to replace the orginial reel, on a newly purchased rod and reel. The cap on the previous reel was loose unbeknownce to me, and with the first cast, the cap went flying into the lake. I called the manufacturer to find replacement parts are not sold. It was recommended that I contact a reel repair business. SHAKESPEARE supplied the contact number. That company did not have the part either. This became the next best solution

Rated 1 out of 5 by dnhunter from Low quality reel I bought as a combo for my daughter. Hit button to release line for the very first time and the button fell apart into the interior of reel. Took apart and tried to repair but it continued to fall apart with each use. I threw the reel in the trash and put an old reel on the combo rod which is a nice ultra light rod.
