Purchased two, both brokeI bought two of these (on 8/2/20) for my young sons (5yrs, 7yrs) for quick, spontaneous trips to nearby lakes during the restrictions these days. On the FIRST use, BOTH of the rods broke. The top segment on both got stuck and will not collapse. Instead, the eyelets on the second highest segment came off and the top segment is still stuck. On one of the rods, the bottom hole cover came off, so now the segments fall out of the rod. EXTREMELY disappointed. I owned another Shakespeare travel rod about 15 years ago and had great experience, and I have a number of other Shakespeare rods and reels. I purchased these because of previous experience, but this was utterly terrible. Since these are within warranty, I expect for the matter to be rectified.

Great option for any travelI bought the 6’6” combo and it’s great! I throw it in my backpack whenever I leave the house. It packs down to nothing and still has every great feature that Shakespeare is known for. I’ve used it to catch everything from bluegill in New Hampshire to stingrays in Florida!
